Gold is in such high demand at the moment – which we can see from the current prices. The way in which we search for this gold could begin to change thanks to a new tool from Gold Maps Online – which uses Google Earth Maps.
This service uses a number of KML files; this then helps to highlight those areas where gold is currently being found. The map can be viewed in near real-time thanks to gold mining claim holders, as they have to pay an annual fee to maintain ownership.
These maps on Google Earth are not free, but Google Earth Blogs explains a number of options available to you. You can try it for free with a sample map just to give you an idea of how to use it and what you can expect from the full version.
