Mass Effect 3: Goals To Make it Better Than Mass Effect 2

On the whole BioWare’s Mass Effect 2 was well received by most reputable game sites and magazines, however as you would expect a a company like BioWare always see room for improvement, they have recently set out goals which they hope will will make Mass Effect 3 better than it’s predecessor.

They believe that they should keep many aspects that were offered in Mass Effect 2, such as the game’s “Combat-narrative flow”, core gameplay and gameplay focus.

However they believe that they should try to improve the upcoming game’s combat options, also they believe that there should be more combat options, more complex enemies, richer RPG features and everything else should be polished.

Do you agree with BioWare’s goals? If not, what do you think they should concentrate on?

      SHOULD BE ABLE FLY THE SHUTTLE OR THE NORMANDY YOUR SELF. ALSO UPGRADE THE SHUTTLE ALSO BUY MECKS FOR MISSIONS OR ON THE NORMANDY FOR PROTECION. MAKE THE UNIVERSE MASSIVE BIGGER THEN MASS EFFECT 2.
      HAVE SPACE STATIONS IN EVERY SOLAR SYSTEME. BLACK HOLES LAND ON ANY PLANET NOT THE ONES YOU HAVE TO ALSO FLY TO OTHER SOLAR SYSTEMES. TALK TO ANY BODY NOT ONES WITH THE BLUE BOX ON THEM. BUY SHUTTLES THAT ARE MORE POWERFUL AND UPGRADE THEM WITH WEAPONS SO YOU CAN HAVE TWO SHIPS ATTACKING INSTEAD OF ONE.

      I agree on keeping combat style of the game and maybe polishing it a bit which they probably will do, obviously the game revolves around the Commander and humanity but it seems to have to much of a human element, maybe try to mix the aliens a bit like a multiracial crew instead of all human crew.

      And just make the storyline better than ever like they did with the previous games. I get the feeling of a new crew maybe add a batarian.

      Bring back the RPG elements that made Mass Effect 1 such an enjoyable game, searching for loot for example, GET RID OF THE MINERAL SCANNER!!!! I know there was a lot of criticism of the mako in the first game but please, it was tons more fun than spending hours scanning a planet for minerals. Also, in mass effect 2, side quest seemed cramped and directed, not in one single side quest did i feel free to truly explore my surroundings like i was able to in mass effect 1. i think bioware has forgotten what the original fans of the franchise wants and are trying to appeal to shooter fans, mass effect 2 hardly struck a balance between shooter and rpg, i would say it was about 75% shooter and only 25& rpg.

        I agree completely if you want to make the game better. Keep the shooter style but bring back the rpg element like the first one.

        THANK YOU!!. That’s exactly how I felt about Mass Effect 2. BioWare got rid of most of what Mass Effect great. It felt more like a shooter and less like a RPG. I hate scanning planets for minerals and hate that fact that the side quest are so linear. In fact the whole game seems so linear to a point that it just reduces replay value. The side quest are way too linear and purely random. You have to scan planets to find side quest and when you do, you not able to roam around like you were able to in the first game. I rather drive around in the hard-to-control Mako than sit through a half hour of scanning planets just to find a side quest.

      They should allow way more choices and consequences. I hope everything your character has done in the previous games shows a specific and very detailed response in the 3rd game. This will make the player want to play all of the games over to get different endings and outcomes. Bioware should also allow homosexuality as a choice with the male characters. Its only a choice among the female Sheperd. The game should make you want to unlock bonuses, different outcomes, upgrades, and crew memebers. I hope the team consists of all the old members who survived from ME1 and ME2, and new faces.

      Bring back RPG elements. Mass Effect 1 was gold and that was thanks to the RPG elements. bring back past love interests. For example: I play as female sheperd and her and kaiden met on Horizon. That confrontration ended on good terms, so bring that back. AND MAKE IT EPIC!!!! 10000000 times better than MASS EFFECT 1 and 2!

      I totally agree with all the RPG fans because as of now, I'm playing Mass Effect 1 straight through for the first time and I am enjoying it more than I enjoyed Mass Effect 2 even though I still played Mass Effect 2 for hours after its release. Exploring is something that never gets old and I think everyone or most RPG fans would agree. If Mass Effect 3 could be at least 65 percent RPG and 35 percent shooter, It would blow the previous ME's out the water. Also, if exploring planets do return from ME 1, they need to have more detail in the planets environments; true to life perhaps, because the planets in ME 1 was too empty.

      Bioware, since I love ME2 so much, i would let you do your thing.
      Though, I never minded riding Mako. I thought it was great, the only bad thing was the environment/planet you land on. It was all the same, dry, hot, winter, ugly dead surface.

      I believe that Mass Effect has better combat than Mass Effect 2, purely speaking for PC. I do not have any consoles to make a solid judgement in overall combat, but for the PC, i believe mass effect 1 has better combat. Also, i believe that mass effect 3 should enhance the storyline. Mass effect 1 has such a rich and adventurous storyline that kept me well entertained, while Mass effect 2 had a weak story that jumped place to place without anything more to do than kill stuff and gain trust. Other than that I really look forward to Mass Effect 3. I am going to buy it regardless, but i hope they make general upgrades to the entire game.

      I want to see what earth looks like!!!!!! and on 360 me2 combat was a thousand times better than the me1 combat. the combat was awful in me1. keep the combat the same but add more rpg storyline too
