GDC 2010: Playstation Move isnt as big as Project Natal – Molyneux

By Alan Ng - Mar 12, 2010

Well this is guaranteed to start a lively debate for sure. Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux has been talking in a recent interview about Playstation Move, stating that Sony’s motion controller will not be as big as Microsoft’s Project Natal.

When speaking in an interview with Eurogamer, Molyneux was giving his thoughts on Playstation Move, also adding that everyone already expected what Sony was going to announce.

He continued: ”It looks like they’ve taken a step forward but it’s not as big a step as something like Natal, I don’t think.”

However, from a designers point of view, he did say that he would ‘love’ to get his hands on the Move controller and try it out for himself.

"playstation move isnt as big as Project Natal ? hahahahaha after seeing more detail about the playstation move I don't even know what project natal is anymore."

    You idiot.

He's right actually. We can already see that Move works. It'll be a hit or miss for it, but Natal is a different story. When we watched E3 last year, we could start thinking of games and possibilities of Move. Not so with Natal. I cant think of anything I would do with it except a boxing type of game. No sports game will work on Natal in its natural, controller free state. No games with weapons would work either. They'd have to create new genres and exclude almost every winning formula right now. Games stem from imagination. If you cant even imagine what game to make how can we know for sure it will work? We really have to see what MS have been hiding this whole time @ E3.

ARE YOU SERIOUS….. Please tell me your joking as this is just sony throwing a gimmick out there that the fanboys will flock to. It does nothing innovative other than ad HD to the wii.

    • Yeah!! and that exactly waht a real gamer is looking for, cuase i don't like to play boring wii games with kids graphics. the only good thing of natal is that people won't have anything in their hands to throw at Tv screens when they get frustrated for the unresponsive and llaggy shit that natal will turn out to be. If Natal players still manage to throw something and the screen guess what! they'll have to buy another sony LCD!! LOL
