Apple Store is down: iPad pre-orders begin in a few hours

Well some exciting news to bring you now, as following on from our previous article, which reminded you about the Apple iPad’s pre-order day in the US, we can now confirm that the Apple Store has been closed temporarily.

As reported from I4U, this is obviously due to Apple making last minute preparations before they open up their website to millions of eager shoppers.

Just to remind you, Apple is expected to start pre-orders for the WiFi iPad at Wifi iPad at 8:30am EST – just hours away.

Will they be able to withstand the huge surge in traffic that is expected to come their way? I guess we will find out in a few hours time.
