The Secret of Monkey Island 2: Special Edition, Coming to Multiple Platforms this Summer

Back in November 2009 we posted a detailed review of The Secret of Monkey Island for iPhone, it sounds like this game must have been a success as this summer LucasArts will be releasing The Secret of Monkey Island 2: Special Edition on multiple platforms.

The game will be available on the Xbox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Network, along with releases for tor the PC, iPhone and iPod Touch, this special edition is said to differ quite dramatically from the original version.

Apparently there will be a completely new control mechanism, instead of the very limited ‘point-and-click’ interface you will now be able to move Guybrush around freely.

Back in the early 90′s the Monkey Island games became pretty popular due to their always intriguing quests, and pretty impressive (at that time) visuals, it is thought that The Secret of Monkey Island 2: Special Edition will also boast some never-before-seen art from Peter Chan and Steve Purcell, this should impress you hardcore fans.

Currently a definite release date is not known, all we can say is it should be available sometime this summer, as we find out more we will keep you posted, for more details check out the link below.
