Street View Makes Google Earth and Maps More Precise

By Peter Chubb - Mar 11, 2010

Google Earth and Google Maps has always been a great tool to use, but there have been times when we get frustrated about inaccuracies when searching for points if interest. Thankfully the addition of Street View has helped to make this feature more precise.

Google Earth Blog explains that before StreeView came along the results were close when locating restaurants, bars, banks etc but there was room for improvement – latest Google tools helps to place markers much more accurately than ever before. These new markers can now be placed right on buildings – thanks to Street View.

Once the marker is placed you will then see a split screen, just move the marker on the map or Street View window – make certain that you place it as accurately as possible. Once this is done just save your changes, that’s all you have to do.

This is a great tool but not if you live in Europe – following recent reports that Google may stop updating Street View in that region. For more details visit this recent article.
