By Updated on

We have some good news for gamers looking to try out the upcoming OnLive cloud gaming service, as we have a confirmed price and release date for the US, fresh from GDC 2010.

As reported from GameDaily, OnLive boss Steve Pearlman delivered the news himself at a press conference – announcing that OnLive will be available in the US from June 17th.

As for the price, it will cost you $14.95 a month to use, but the first 25,000 users to pre-register for the service will get three months free use. However, its not too great – as you’ll still need to pay a separate fee to actually rent or buy the game you want to play.

No details on the separate fees for the games yet, but we’ll let you know once we get more details. OnLive will launch with between 12 and 25 games, some of which include the likes of Mass Effect 2, Assassin’s Creed 2 and Borderlands.

Let us know your thoughts on the pricing. We imagine you are quite surprised with the ‘separate fees’, right?
