Remember last week when we informed you about Skype’s full release on Symbian handsets via the Ovi Store? Well it turns out Nokia has now removed the app from the US Ovi Store, as a result of Skype’s exclusive deal with Verizon Wireless.
As reported from BGR, it doesnt mean that you can no longer access Skype in the US on Symbian handsets, it just means that you’ll have to find another route to download it, and not via the official Ovi Store.
Nokia has now said that this decision was made purely because of marketing, and that they wanted to ‘drive more attention’ towards the recent agreement with Verizon.
