First Apple iPad Ad at Oscars: Keeps with Tradition
By: Peter Chubb | March 8, 2010 | 1 CommentYou can always count on Apple to get maximum exposure when it comes to showing off a new product – last night on ABC television we got to see the first ad for the iPad. The company is keeping with tradition, as it is not the first time they have promoted a product at the Academy Awards.
PC World reports that Apple has shown commercials of the iPhone at the Oscars and the first Macintosh personal computer in 1984 at the Super Bowl XVIII. For those who missed last night’s ad view the video below. The commercial is nothing special, the Cupertino, California; company has kept things very simple.
We recently reported that the iPad would be released in the U.S. on April 3 – other countries will follow shortly after that. It had been assumed that the UK would get the iPad at the same time as the U.S. – but low production levels have forced a delay. We assume that the UK and the rest of the world will get the iPad about one month later – around May.
