Xbox 360: Update to Code of Conduct – Gay gamers rejoice
By: Alan Ng | March 5, 2010 | Leave a CommentRemember when an outbreak occured when Microsoft told a user with the name ‘TheGayGamer’ to change his GamerTag on Xbox Live? It appears as if Microsoft has had a change of heart, with a recent update to the Code of Conduct.
As reported from Pocket-Lint, Microsoft has now updated the conduct, to allow gamers to state their race, nationality, religion or sexual orientation on their profiles, as they please.
If you wish to express your sexuality to others publicly, you may now do so – but Microsoft have also noted that they will be moderating this closely, in fear of harassment occuring – which it probably will.
Microsoft had this to say on the changes: ”I truly believe that our diversity is what makes us strong: diversity in gaming and entertainment options, and diversity in the people that make up this amazing community”.
