Some breaking news to bring you now, as Apple has just confirmed the official release date for the iPad tablet for customers in the U.S. It will be available from April 3rd, with pre-orders starting next week.

As reported from BGR, April 3rd is the date set for the WiFi version of the iPad. If you’re thinking of getting one, you’ll be able to pre-order as soon as March 12th, which is next Friday.

For those of you outside the U.S (specifically: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, and the U.K), you’ll have wait until late April according to Apple, that includes UK customers. This will be for both the WiFi and 3G versions of the iPad.
