Xbox 360 vs PS3, Wii and PC: Most Used Online Platform

By Jamie Pert - Mar 3, 2010

According to a recent article posted on MCV it appears as if gamers spend more time online with their Xbox 360s then they do with any other platform, this is surprising as I thought with World of Warcraft proving so popular on the PC, PC gamers would far outdo Xbox 360 gamers.

According to a recent NDP report the average Xbox 360 gamer spends 7.3 hours a week on online gaming, whereas PC gamers spends just 6.6 hours a week on average and PS3 gamers spend just 5.8 hours a week on average.

These figures apparently show that on average all gamers now spend around 10 per cent extra time on online gaming than they did back in 2009, the report also shows that gamers are slowly coming round to the idea of purchasing and downloading games online via services such as Xbox Live and PSN.

Apparently NPD’s report took data from 18,872 players therefore the data may not be exactly accurate, however they should at least show a rough idea of how things are panning out.

How many hours a week do you spend online with your PC/PS3/Wii/Xbox 360?

I think its because the people are paying for the xbl so they play constantly to get their moneys worth.

I know wow is addictive but maybe it doesn't meet some people's wants.
