By: Alan Ng | March 3, 2010 | 1 CommentFollowing on from our earlier report, which informed you of the national data outage affecting Verizon customers in the U.S, we now have an update from Verizon to give you, in which the company has indeed confirmed that the service was down.
As reported from ComputerWorld, the outage lasted for around four hours, and affected eastern U.S. customers on their BlackBerry handsets.
Verizon confirmed the outage in an email sent out to customers, as well as on their official Twitter page. The company blamed the outage on on ”defective software in one of its data centers”.
At the moment, it is unclear just how many were affected by the outage, but it is likely that full details will be released this week. Let us know your thoughts on this.
