General Motors: 1.3 million recall for Chevy, Pontiac motors over steering issue
By: Alan Ng | March 2, 2010 | 7 CommentsIt has been reported that car giant General Motors has had to recall around 1.3 million motors, due to a problem relating to powering steering in certain models.
As reported from DetNews, affected models include the 2005-2010 Chevy Cobalts, 2007-2010 Pontiac G5s, 2005 and 2006 Pontiac Pursuit models and finally, the Pontiac G4 as well.
General Motors state that the recall will help them to replace defective power steering motors, which the company say are ‘prone to failure’.
However, an estimated time of fix has not yet been announced by GM, instead they state that they will be informing car owners in due time. Until that happens, they have advised owners with affected models to drive under 15mph.
