Eric Schmidt: Google Earth on Android OS and Q&A at MWC

At the recent Mobile World Congress Google’s Eric Schmidt appeared on stage, here he spoke about Google’s mobile plans and also answered questions regarding Google Android and Google Earth etc.

Schmidt (Google’s CEO) spoke about how Google have developed over the last few years, starting with offering web services such as Gmail and Google Maps, he then went on to speak about Google Buzz and Google Broadband.

During the event one attendee accused Google of “pushing the network operators into becoming dumb pipes”, Schimidt didn’t seem happy with this statement and answered promptly, he said “I disagree with your premise completely” and added “I feel very, very strongly that we depend on the successful businesses of the operators globally”.

During the event Schmidt also took the opportunity to announce that Google Earth will soon be coming their Android platform, prior to this the only mobile OS to offer Google Earth is Apple’s iPhone.
