Nokia and Intel’s MeeGo: Explained in detail, Q2 release

Following on from our initial report, which informed you about the potentially exciting merge of Nokia’s Maemo and Intel’s Moblin platforms to form MeeGo, we have some more detailed information to share with you now, including an expected release period.

It answers all your questions about MeeGo, and also reveals that version 1 of the Linux-based platform will be available sometime in Q2 of this year.
There is also information relating to the source code, info for developers and confirmation that MeeGo will use the .rpm format as its packaging system.
