It appears as if the Swedish telecom operator Tele2 AB are looking to roll out ‘high-speed fourth-generation networks’ in Russia, however they are currently awaiting licenses from regulators.
It is thought that handsets such as the Apple iPhone and multiple Google Android devices have put extra stress on networks worldwide, therefore Tele2 AB are looking at ways to increase the capacity of their network.
It is thought that Tele2’s Swedish 4G network will be provided by Huawei Technologies Co, last year a contract was agreed which should result in a 4G network being up and running in Sweden in 2010.
If Tele2’s Russian 4G network proves to be a success it will be great for their share holders, currently shares are at SEK105.60 (Swedish Krona), for further details check out WSJ.
