Toyota to recall Priuses: 270,000 Prius hybrid vehicles

ABCNews have recently posted an article that states that Toyota are to Recall Priuses in the US and Japan, this is due to the brake-related problem, which we reported earlier this week.

According to their article it seems as if 270,000 models will be recalled, the news originally emerged in Japan’s top business newspaper ‘Nihon Keizai’.

Toshiba have not confirmed this, their latest official tweet reads “Toyota USA President J.Lentz talks about the sticking accelerator pedal recall. See demo of the fix here: http://bit.ly/dq5P45″, if you checkout their official news releases they have only spoken about the accelerator pedal fix today.

An official for the transport ministry confirmed that Toyota have not yet contacted them regarding a recall, also a Toshiba representative stated that “the company has not yet decided whether to recall the model in the U.S. and Japan”.
