Original Xbox: Losing Xbox Live
By: Jamie Pert | February 5, 2010 | 2 CommentsMicrosoft have recently announced that Xbox Live services for the original Xbox will soon be coming to an end, apparently Microsoft did not take this decision lightly, however feel that “this will provide the greatest benefit to the Xbox Live community”.
As of April 15th Microsoft will be ‘pulling the plug’ on the original Xbox’s live services, this will also affect Xbox Originals being played on the Xbox 360.
The news doesn’t come as a great surprise given that the Xbox is now nine-years old, it is thought that anyone still utilizing Xbox Live functionality on the original Xbox will be contacted either by email or Xbox Live.
It is thought that one of the games that will be affected the most is Halo 2, this game still has a large following even though it was released over 5 years ago, for further details check out MCV.
