As you know 2009 was a huge year for ebooks and eReader’s, therefore it is no surprise that Ideal Binary Ltd have today announced the world’s first fully 3D eBook reader application.
This application is called 3D Bookshelf and is currently on version 1.0, this application is somewhat unique as it aims to give its users “a fully 3D vintage reading experience”, therefore you get to see completely three dimensional book and turn pages etc, you can see a screencast here.
From what we can see the application features “fifteen time-honored eBooks”, these time-honored books include Oscar Wilde’s ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s ‘The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes’.
To run this application you must be running either an iPhone or iPod Touch which is running iPhone OS 2.2.1 or later, it is currently available at the App Store for just $0.99 (USD), you can find it in the ‘Books’ subcategory or by following this link.
Oh, and if you want a chance to win an iPad check out this link.
