Viewsonic MovieBook VPD550T: Portable Media Player Featuring 1080p Output

One feature we are beginning to see on high-end smartphones is HD video output, we are now hearing that Viewsonic’s upcoming MovieBook VPD550T portable media player will feature 1080p HD video-output.

This device features a 5 inch LCD touch screen display which supports a resolution of 800×480, it also features 8GBs of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot.

The 1080p HD video output is made possible via a HDMI output. It is thought that a single charge will offer up to 20 hours of audio playback and 4 hours of video playback, there are a large range of video and audio format supported.

It is thought that the MovieBook VPD550T will set you back $199 which seems reasonable, however if you do not require 1080p output there will be a 720p version available for $189 and a non-HD 4-inch model for $139, to find out more check out Cnet.
