Apple’s Event: Tablet PC, iPhone OS 4.0, iMac and MacBook

Apple certainly has us thinking about what they are up to with their Press Event on January 27, along with the paint blobs. Below the blobs is the message “Come see our latest creation.” The smart money is on a new Tablet PC device, but we could also see a new iPhone, OS 4.0, iMac or a new MacBook.

We have covered a number of articles about the new products that Apple might announce next week, but no one knows the truth, when it comes to keeping things to themselves, Apple are experts. The new Tablet device, which is the most likely to be launched, has a choice of names, iStale or iPad; we think that it will be the former.

PC World said that it does not matter what Apple call the device, it will be the “Kindle Killer”, and they are correct. The Amazon eReader is very basic and very bulky, we know that the Apple PC device will be ultra slim and will ooze sex appeal.

The rumor of an iPhone 4G being released early in 2010 is very unlikely, many believe that Apple are worried about the constant threat from Google, you only have to look at the poor sales of the Nexus One to see that they have nothing to worry about.

Apple could use the Press Event as a platform to launch its new iPhone OS 4.0; it is thought that this will be the operating system on their tablet. We have to wonder why Apple will not use their Mac OS X instead?

PC World believes that Apple will show of an updated 22-inch touchscreen iMac and a new MacBook. As we have said, all of this is speculation, at least we do not have that long to wait.
