Dell Studio XPS 8100: Desktop PC Specifications

Dell have recently released a new desktop PC, this PC is called the Dell Studio XPS 8100 and has a wide-range of optional upgrades available.

There is a choose between Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, there are also RAM configurations available of up to 16GB, storage options of up to 3TB and the choice between a DVD writer or Blu-ray drive.

Other things worth mentioning include the computers graphic options, as standard the PC comes with ATI 4350, however there are a wide-range of optional upgrades to choose from aswell, including GeForce GTS 240 and GeForce GTX 260 graphics cards.

The computer also features Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, if you want the most out of this computer you can choose an NVIDIA 3D Vision kit and a Samsung 2233R2 22-inch monitor.

    If you are a musician that hooks up a musical instrument to the line in and expects to hear what you are playing while recording, do not buy this computer, Dell has disabled the stereo mix in a lot of its newer computers including this. Look up "Dell disables stereo mix" and you will find out the whole story behind this. Even if you use your own sound card you may have problems as i have had

    @jace — I have an 8100 and had the same problem but the free ASIO4ALL resolved it for me.
