Tata Motors, known for the small and cheap Nano were showing off their latest car at the Auto Expo 2010 show in New Delhi today. The Tata Aria MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) was their showcase car with the Tata Venture and Tata Magic Iris also in a supporting role.
According to Sammy Live, the Tata Aria is a family vehicle and comes with 7 seats; it is a mix between a sedan and an SUV. A 2.2-liter diesel engine will power the vehicle, the same used in the Safari. Expect to see the Aria enter production some time in the second quarter of the year.
The Aria will be Tata Motors most expensive vehicle to date and will come with a four-wheel-drive option. This will not be the best off-road vehicle, but a decent ground clearance should help with mild-off road driving.
The interior is the best yet from Tata, offering 3D surround sound, built-in GPS, automatic climate control, dimming roof lamps, cruise control and much more. According to icars.sg, the layout of the seats is in a “theatre style”, visit the link and read more on this.
The Tata Aria is also their safest vehicle, with six airbags and ESP. The price for this new MPV will be Rs 7-10 lakh.
