With all of the talk surrounding the Apple iSlate/Tablet we have not had much time to talk about other competing devices, however Freescale are planning to release a $200 tablet sometime in 2010, this could prove to be extremely popular.
It is thought that Freescale will launch a new range of 7 inch tablets at the Consumer Electronics Show which takes place on Thursday 7th January, these tablets are apparently aiming to bridge the gap between smartphones and netbooks.
It is thought that one particular model will costs less than $200, for this you will get an economical ARM-based processor, WiFi and 3G capabilities and up to 12 hour of battery life, this device will run an open-source OS such as Google’s Android or another form of Linux.
We should find out more when the Consumer Electronics Show takes place, when we do we will keep you informed. For more information check out MacWorld.co.uk.
