Twitter losing celebrities

By Updated on

2009 has been good for Twitter, their growth has been astonishing and the latest deal with Google will further its progress. The micro-blogging site has not been a moneymaker, but the recent deals with Google and MSN has changed all that and is set to make $25 million.

The first half of 2009 was a slow start for Twitter, but the second half was when things started to change. The reason for this is due to more companies and celebrities signing up, although a number of celebs are now canceling their accounts and not Tweeting any more.

So why are so many celebrities turning their backs on Twitter? Miley Cyrus was the biggest star to end her Tweets, saying that it was too much to keep updating, but many believe that it was to keep a special someone happy.

Chris Brown was another celeb to quit Twitter, there are a number of reasons why he did this, but we all know the main one. British pop star, Lilly Allen closed her Twitter account in September. For more details, visit MSN.

One of the biggest stars on Twitter is Ashton Kutcher, he still happily Tweets away but threatened to quit just recently.

Although these will have a small impact on Twitter, 2010 will still be bigger for the micro-blogging website. Which celebrity will Twitter lose next?
