Mozilla Firefox 3.6 & 4.0: Delays Looking Likely
By: Jamie Pert | December 30, 2009 | Leave a CommentBack in July we saw the release of Mozilla Firefox 3.5, we are now hearing that there will be delays for Firefox 3.6 and Firefox 4.0.
Initially it was thought that we should see the release of Firefox 3.6 in 2009, however it now seems as if we should expect to see this next version released in Q1 2010.
This has also resulted in Mozilla looking to push back Firefox 4.0 until early 2011, prior to this it seemed set for a late 2010 release date.
These delays are said to be due to Mozilla wanting to spend extra time developing these next versions, the main reason for this is because Mozilla want to concentrate on keeping a high market-share of the web browser market, and with Internet Explorer 8 and Google Chrome putting pressure on Mozilla’s dominant web browser this may prove to be a wise decision.
