DirecTV’s 3D HD TV Channel: Official announcement at CES 2010

CES 2010 is going to be a superb event in the New Year; there have been a number of rumored devices that will hopefully make an appearance at the show. We have learned that DirecTV is to launch three HD channels in March; this is according to a report from HD Guru.

The satellite to make this all possible was launched a couple of night ago, not only will these be HD channels but will also match 3D standards. We are not certain what these three new HD channels will be, but HD Guru suggests that they will be movies, sports and 3D programs.

To learn more, you will need to keep an eye on all the latest news from CES 2010, which starts on January 7. Once the new service begins current subscribers will receive a firmware update on their system, allowing their HDTV boxes to receive the new HD channels.

According to Tom’s Guide, these new channels will already be on the new 2010 LG, Panasonic and Samsung HDTVs. Just so you know, for the 3D channel, you will need a 3D TV and 3D glasses.
