It seems pretty likely that the lifespan of the iPhone 3G could well be coming to an end, this is due to a possible launch of an 8GB version of the iPhone 3GS.
A label has recently shown up on SlashGear which reads “iPhone 3GS v2.2 ,8GB”, it is quite possible that this is a typo, however it is equally possible that Apple may soon be releasing an 8GB version of their flagship 3GS model.
Back in November we breifly spoke about a possible 8GB iPhone 3GS coming to AT&T, this reduced capacity version could possibly allow carriers to offer the handset for just $99.
If this label does turn out to be genuine it further backs up predictions of a new iPhone model being released by Apple sometime in 2010, as we hear more we will keep you up-to-date.
