Nexus One Google Phone Android 2.1: Droid Port Video
By: Peter Chubb | December 15, 2009 | Leave a CommentFrom the moment we learned that the new Google Phone, the Nexus One was to come with Android 2.1 it was only a matter of time before the OS was ported to the Motorola Droid. If you take a look below we have the video to prove it, but it does come with a warning.
Engadget admits that the hack to run Android 2.1 on the Droid is clever, but owners should not try and install the hack on their handsets, as it is not perfect. There were instruction on how to do this on Sholes.info, but they have since been taken down.
The reason they removed the instruction was due to a risk of damaging your Droid handset, this would then void the warranty. They still offer you a way to hack your Droid, do so at your own risk, you have been warned.
When watching the video you can see the boot screen that will be on the Nexus One Google Phone, these are the same images that we have seen plastered all over the net for the past few days since the handset was passed around to Google employees.
Let us know if you decided to port Android 2.1 onto your Droid, if so how was it for you?
