Google Phone: Nexus One

Google Phone: Nexus One

By now, we all know that Google are to launch their own branded phone and has been discussed in length on Twitter, which we covered in a recent post. However, we have recently learned that the name of that handset is the Google Nexus One and one blogger has taken a photo of one.

We can clearly see that the Google Phone is a lot like the iPhone as its touchscreen dominates the entire front of the handset. According to Redmond Pie, there is a nice scroll wheel to allow for easy navigation, much like the system that some of the new BlackBerry handsets come with.

You can clearly see that the Nexus One looks a lot like the HTC Passion / Bravo, funny as the hardware has been built by HTC. Both handsets are slated for an early 2010 release, but what one will be the most popular.

We would suggest that the Google Nexus One would have the better performance as it will have the same if not better hardware than the Bravo, but Google will be able to make better use of its Google Android OS.

Do you think that the Google Phone will be able to compete with the Motorola Droid or the Apple iPhone?

I have owned several smartphones in the past years. Right now I am sticking to Windows Mobile 6.5 on my HTC Tilt and I think is best. Google or Apple is no way comparable. see below why.

    1) There is nothing great or special about Nexus One. This is just another equipment in the market with more Hype , Hype, Hype and nothing else.

HTC Tilt with windows phones offers all below.
    1) Touch / Physical screens
    2) WIFI – Both N / G networks
    3) Built in GPS . YOu have choice to install your own tomtom or Garmin. I got both on wm6.5 . I don’t a separate GPS. My phone is 100% good GPS.
    4) Camera / Video Recorder
    5) Querty Key board.
    4) 3G and world phone.
    5) Bluetooth /stereo
Plus there are several thousand apps available freely the internet and Custom ROMs which you can use build your own ROMS.

Out these Greatest features in HTC Tilt are
    1) USE your phone as modem
    2) As Scanner using builtin camera
    3) Take screen shots on your wm6.5
    4) Big thing – Internet Sharing . If you have data plan on your HTC Tilt you can share the same internet to any PC via bluetooth or USB.
    6) Sync Outlook, contacts emails etc.
    7) Use of Google / Bing maps, Yelp.com et.
    8) Mobile Tv
    9) You Tube
    10) RSS Newsfeeds
    11) Opera Browser for better surfing.
    12) Touch screen
    13) Slide show photo albums
    14) Video out – Features ( Cable required)

Above all HTC tilt with wm6.5 offers Multitasking – which is not there in iphone.

I don’t its fair to compare WM6.5 with iPhone/ Android(google) for the amount of money you put out.
    So the winner is WM6.5
