2010 Acer Android Handsets: Will Challenge iPhone and BlackBerry
By: Peter Chubb | December 12, 2009 | Leave a CommentAcer has recently announced that they are to step up their Google Android handset program in 2010 by launching 10 new models, which is said to challenge the likes of the Apple iPhone and RIM BlackBerry’s. This is according to executive Roger Yuen.
These 10 new Acer Android handsets will be launched in the first part of 2010, so there could be even more in the second half. It seems that Acer are not happy with making gains in the computer market, they also want to be taken seriously in the smartphone market as well.
According to Top 10 Mobile Phones, Acer will price these new Google Android OS handsets in order of appeal; these will range from low to mid-range, which is what most users want. However, Acer will also cater for those looking for more advanced handsets.
Acer is not just thinking about the consumer market, Yuen also announced that the company would cater for the business user; this would be a direct challenge to BlackBerry handsets. This model will not arrive until the latter part of 2010.
Acer will do what most other cell phone makers do with the Android operating system, embrace it but also add a few of their own unique features. By doing this, most of the basic functions are improved offering the user a more enjoyable experience.
