CES 2010: Dell Tablet Running on Google Android

Dell is no stranger to tablet devices, but they are when it comes to running one with Google Android OS. There are rumors that Dell will unveil their new product at CES 2010, thus beating Apple and maybe the rumored Asus Eee Pad at the same time.

The new Dell tablet already has its target, and that is the Archos Internet Tablet and the JooJoo, which we recently explained came from the ashes of the ill fated CrunchPad. If rumors are true, then users will be able to gain access to the Internet and surf on a device better than current smartphones, as well as having touchscreen capabilities.

Engadget do not know much about the latest Dell device, some digging from Pocket-Lint suggests that it will have a screen size of at least 5-inches and will run on Android. Not certain why they have gone with Android, they should have been working with Google and their Chrome OS instead.

It is assumed that the tablet will be launched in the UK some time in 2010 and will be on show at CES in January in Las Vegas. Dell has yet to confirm any of this, but they have hinted that they are testing a number of new mobile devices.

This could mean anything, but at least it is better than no comment at all.
