Apple Tablet and Verizon iPhone: Latest details
By: Peter Chubb | December 10, 2009 | 1 CommentFor those of you who have buried their head’s in the sand, we learned that the Apple Tablet PC will be launched next year and depending on whom you listen too, the release will either be March or April. The news has not been made official by Apple, but was started by notes being exchanged between Oppenheimer analyst Yair Reiner and his clients.
According to All Things Digital, production is rumored to begin in February and the price is expected to be in the region of $1000. That is more than a number of high spec laptops on the market and could hinder the popularity of the latest Apple device. One thing is certain, if things go how Apple hopes, then the likes of Amazon’s Kindle will feel the biggest impact.
Engadget explains that the note also had details of Apple’s talks with publishers, offering them an attractive offer with a revenue split, much the same as they do with iTunes and the App Store. As we explained above, there is no solid evidence on an Apple Tablet release, but if it were true, then we can expect to see the device at Macworld or CES.
Another rumor that keeps popping up in and out of the news is the prospect of the iPhone going over to Verizon. A Piper Jaffray analyst is the latest to add their two cents worth, saying that they are 70 percent certain that a Verizon iPhone will be introduced some time in 2010. This is according to a recent report from Apple Insider.
We are waiting for conformation on both these rumors, for more information on both these latest rumors visit Engadget.
