Universal Music’s VEVO: Video service launches in the U.S

Good news for music lovers now, as Universal Music has just launched their brand new VEVO service, which promises to offer users the ability to stream music videos for free.

As reported from Pocket-Lint, the service will work in the same way as Hulu does for TV content, but VEVO will operate in partnership with some of the biggest record labels such as Sony Music, EMI and Universal themselves.

The VEVO service will be particularly favorable with record companies who are still fighting it out with YouTube over copyright disputes and payment issues.

Whilst being free, the service will be supported by Ads, very much like Spotify – with big companies such as AT&T, McDonalds and Mastercard already signed up to VEVO.
