Apple Tablet: Release Date and Specs update rumors

By: Alan Ng | December 9, 2009 | 3 Comments

We have yet more rumors on the infamous and still unannounced Apple Tablet for you to read now, as it has been reported that production on the device will start in February next year – according to one analyst.

The news comes from Apple Insider, who state that the new rumors have surfaced due to a recent check on Apple’s supply chain.

Once production begins in February, the report states that a release is likely to follow in March or April, with a 10.1-inch LCD device being the most likely option.

Furthermore, the analyst adds that the Tablet will feature the same ‘LTPS LCD technology’ as seen on the iPhone, and not an OLED screen as previously rumored.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think this latest story has any truth to it? Full article is up at Apple Insider.

What ever any Apple, or Mac tablet includes, it better be good, because some many rumors have sent expectations to the stratosphere!

Still, I think it will become much like the iPhone, a total game changer! At least thats my hope.

I’d like to be excited about this product but i’m just so concerned about it’s use, price, and market share.

Will this product be revolutionary therby creating a new market entirely? Will the major book publishers/writers jump on board causing a revolutionary change in how we manage, store and catalogue our literature?

Everything is so cloudy. But one thing we all (should) know is we are on the edge of possible revolution. Companies like Simon & Schuster must be shaking in their boots! Just imagine book writers, universities, colleges, magazines etc, saying screw expensive publishing and turn towards electronic publishing! This would be a breakthrough of epic proportions!

As a student, I’d love to buy an Apple Tablet at $x and every semester buy my textbooks via iTunes or Amazon- which should be cheaper because print publishing is taken out of the equation!
