Sony Ericsson Xperia X2: Release date delayed, now expected in 2010

Some disappointing news to report now, as it has been confirmed that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 handset has been delayed, until early 2010, most likely to be January according to Vodafone.

As reported from Pocket-Lint, the Xperia X2 was due to be releasing exclusively on Vodafone in Q4 this year, but now looks set to miss the Christmas sales.

With all the recent problems regarding the Sony Ericsson Satio and Aino, this doesn’t make better reading for fans of Sony Ericsson.

Dont forget they still have the Xperia X10 scheduled for a release in February, so lets hope everything goes according to plan for that one.

    There are many ways to look at the delay.

    What we fear is the fact that the X2 is not stable for release and SE had to do last minute changes which most of the times work as a temporary solution. 2-3 months down the road users start shouting.

    What we want to see is the decision of using a 1GB processor instead.

    We waited this far, 1 more month won’t kill us. Let’s hope and see..

    Why am i not suprised? This wouldnt be the first time SE have done this to us, i was waiting months for the satio.
    In the end i got an X1 because i was fed up of waiting and now i find out they are withdrawing all the satios? Im glad i got my x1.. Even though, i did have to send it back because the touchscreen stopped working and the case cracked. These are all issues known by SE.
    But regarding this x2, all im saying is they better put the qualcomm 1ghz snapdragon in it and some more ram. Because no way is any X1 owner going to pay for the same hardware, with a new cover, speaker and camera. SE have got a lot of unhappy fans, waiting for them to prove they’re still worth the while. They are are the ones that recommened phones to they’re friends and families and if SE are not careful, they will all be going over to HTC, toshiba and apple..

    If its supposed to be the ultimate user experience, why not put a bigger camera in it. SE has 5 and 8 MP cameras they could have used. No opitical zoom. I also read today that the american version drops the 30fps video to 24 fps, WHY?????
