Halo Reach on Xbox 360: Biggest game of 2010?

By: Alan Ng | December 7, 2009 | 10 Comments

We know that Halo Reach is going to be one of the standout games of 2010, but how about the ‘biggest game of 2010′ period? Thats what Geoff Keighley from Spike TV thinks, when he was speaking in a recent Major Nelson podcast.

As reported from VG247, Halo Reach is set for an official unveiling at the upcoming Video Game Awards, so if you’re a Halo nut, this is one event that you won’t want to miss out on.

He reveals that he has spoken to members of the team working on the game, who he says are all pretty excited about the game’s release, while also adding that this will be the first time that gamers get to see the world of Halo Reach – to which he calls ‘phenomenal’.

Exciting stuff eh? Full report is over at VG247, make sure you have a read. Do you think Halo Reach will be the biggest game of 2010?

To be honest, Halo is mario for the 360. I’m sure it’ll do well, but i’m not to sure about GOTY 2010.

Personally, I played Halo 1&2 on PC, and it never really blew my skirt up. It was good, but not a patch on say, the Half-Life series.

Anyway, Halo ODST didn’t score megabucks, only an 83% on metacritic, maybe it’s losing it’s shine. Perhaps this latest iteration will breath new life into the failing franchise.

I am a Huge Halo and 360 fan, but the problems with ODST and Reach that a lot of people had kind of killed the whole thing, they were too much in a hurry to release them, that they didn't iron out the kinks first. It could have been bigger…Or they released faulty consoles (old hard drives in new shiny black casings). With the amount of games around today, the consumer is easily going to move on to something else, no spilt milk for Bungie or MS, maybe they made a fortune with ODST and Reach, never mind the complaints, but their reputation is definitely tainted. I am a 35 yrs old woman who learn to "let it go", but to a teenager…well.
