Droid Eris on Verzion: Android 2.0 update releasing Q1 2010

By: Alan Ng | December 7, 2009 | 7 Comments

Some great news for owners of the HTC Droid Eris, as Verizon has confirmed that the phone will receive a juicy update to the Android 2.0 operating system, before April 2010 approaches.

As reported from Pocket-Lint, HTC has already confirmed that the HTC Hero will be receiving an update to Android 2.0 soon, so it makes sense for Verizon’s version of the Hero to follow suit.

Thats not all either, as has also been thought that the Droid Eris could even get boosted up to Android 2.1, but details on that are very sparse at the moment.

    Awesome!

This is exciting. I was betting for this and exchanged a Droid for the Eris. Since the Droid got fixes for the battery and text messaging not closing after a text is sent, among other fixes. the Droid Eris having this update could make it more appealing for those people wanting the power without the weight and physical keyboard!

Please, please Big Red, don’t be late!
