
Security firm apologizes to Microsoft over ‘Black Screen’ issue
By: Alan Ng | December 3, 2009 | Leave a CommentFollowing on from our story on Tuesday, which informed you about the ‘Black Screen of Death’ issue affecting Windows users, the UK security firm which first made the claims, has now backtracked on their statement and have issued an apology to Microsoft.
As reported from ComputerWorld, Mel Morris, the chief executive of U.K. security firm Prevx has now said that their previous comments were taken out of context – causing unnecessary inconvenience to Microsoft.
They also added that the ‘Black Screen of Death’ issue was more down to ‘malware infections’, rather than Microsoft’s recent security updates as previously thought.
Looks like Microsoft’s ‘investigation’ has appeared to have done the trick. However, there is still the problem of the issue still occuring on many user’s systems.
