Samsung W799: Dual-Touchscreen Handset

By: Jamie Pert | December 3, 2009 | 1 Comment

We have recently heard of a handset which is rumored to be launching in China soon, this handset is pretty unique as it features two touchscreen displays.

This handset is called the Samsung W799, it has a clamshell design with an external touchscreen on the outer-side of the clamshell, also the handsets standard display is touchscreen.

Both touchscreen displays have a 3 inch diagonal and support a WQVGA resolution, the handset also uses Samsung’s TouchWIZ UI. Other specifications worth mentioning include the handset’s 5 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, TV-out and microSD memory card slot.

Currently it seems as if the handset will only launch in China, however I’m sure if it does well we may see the handset launch in the U.S.

As we hear more details regarding the handset we will keep you informed, check out IntoMobile for more information.

I have just recieved a Samsung W799 after ordering one from china, it is definitly a phone with many functions but some disadvantages would be the power usage of this model. The two touch screens cause the mobiles battery to last around 14 hours before charging, I guess thats why they give you two batteries in the box haha.
