Modern Warfare 2 Javelin Glitch: Users will be banned if caught – Microsoft

I’ve seen it in action. It’s very nasty on maps where there are “kill caves”. Examples that spring to mind are the sandbag bunker in Wasteland and the Afghan cave map (both the 3 entry point area, the overwatch ledge near cap point B for domination and the overwatch ledge near cap point for domination).

Basically the players will camp in there with the javelin equipped or run in there when you have the javelin equipped. The explosion radius will fill the entire enclosure, so its 100% death in the closed space. They like to run up on people who are running around knifing. Knife attack hits the javelin carrier and everyone dies. Somewhat ironic the Javelin attack is an exploit (it is) but the ninja knife attacking is considered ok, even when you have melee ranges that are in excess of 20 feet (In game map) for some specs.

I actually use the Javelin glitch. The way you do it for x-box is first select your javelin (or other launcher) by pressing the triangle button. Then press and hold down the RB button as though your going to throw a grenade. Then while still holding RB press triangle to switch back to the Javelin. One time I got 102 kills with it, no joke! Its great for completing all the challenges for your launchers. People get mad because they suck and they don’t know how to do it.

People get mad because even if they kill the glitcher aka: scumbag they die and it totally ruins the game when you have 15 people all glitching running at you with launchers. I and many other players hope you get banned permanently Mike.

I think it is stupid, the glitch is actually putting me off MW2. I’m level 66 and I just want to prestige, yet unfortunately some idiot who clearly lacks any normal skill blows you up anytime you kill them. Infinty Ward had better fix this soon or MW2 may be going back!

i personally the javelin glitch is bad to be on the receiving end of. its a stupid glitch because you have to die to get it to work so its a bit pointless. i hope all users get banned

oh my god i feel so freaking cheap when i use but since level 50 i havent used a different weapon and im now 56. i ranked up 6 levels with this thing in 2 hours. best perks for this are marathon, danger close, and commando. i usually get a 7 killstreak by knifing and then someone kills me and they and their teammates die too! i always go positive with this glitch. i feel like a really cheap person using this but god is it fun!

Its funny all websites log the ip address of those who log on to it. so those who admited using this glitch. the host should turn the ips over to microsoft ban the mother******* who cheat. and lets face it just a 24hr ban isnt enough system ban. microsoft will gain more revenue due to those losing of all internet options on the xbox and we will weed out those who just ruin the concept of gaming all around.

So their are a lot of people talking about this glitch, i personally thinks its a bad use of online gaming. But, if its in the game then how can you get banned for it?? I know its a glitch. But before getting banned for something built into the game i feel that they should fix some aspects of this manuever first. Like if you hold a grenade and cook it then press Y to “cancel” the grenade, thus just cancel out the entire glitch. I feel if you cancel out the grenade then it wont blow up. Or so it should! So before people start talking $h1t online for using it they should just wait to see what happens. I know i get frustrated at the whole idea, especially when someone uses it the entire match, which is pretty ridiculous! I just realize that its just a game. I think that Ifinaty Ward and Xbox live will come out with an update to fix the glitch.

This glitch is seriously ruining the game for anyone who isn’t a complete noob. If you use this glitch then you have little to no skill at the game. All you do is run, get shot, and blow everyone up. Why don’t you losers pick up a gun, be wary when moving around, and actually earn your kills like normal people.

You people are terrible at the game obviously. Telling people they have no skill if they use this? You are a joke. I am a third prestige already, and even I occasionally use the glitch when I am playing noobs like you, that camp with things such as heartbeat sensor Famas,m16 and ACRs. Acquire some skills, run with SMGs and shut up.

Just because you are third level prestige doesn’t mean you have any skill. Besides they are talking about the ones who only use the glitch and nothing else. You only occasionally do making you exempt. Also if you are trying to say that a javelin glitch is as legal in the game as using a heartbeat sensor, then maybe MW2 isn’t the game for you. I personally hate the heartbeat sensor but there are ways around it. I die at least 80% of the time to a javelin glitcher when I kill him/her. Its very irritating to have someone who knows how to press Y be able to ruin your killstreaks and do halfway decent with score during the match. Luckily the fix should be out soon.

I do agree it should be fixed, not arguing that. That and the care package/sentry glitches. when people are running the javelin glitch, my team just duplicates sentry guns around until we have about 10 of them.

Ok look the glitch is annoying period end of story. But look here i don’t think anyone should be getting banned because of something in a game created by another company. You pay for XBL to play that game online along with the $300 buck you spent to buy the system. How are we as gamers whining about a glitch. When true gamers always look for these things no matter what. People always complain about things they either can’t do or can’t get around because of lack of skill or just don’t pay attention. first off if you see someone with a javelin snipe them or pull out your scar hit them from a distance. Also don’t group up first rule of thumb in any video game because the glitch ios just like hold ingn a grenade pulling the pin and running in a crowd and suicied bomb yourself what’s the difference. Wait there is a perk call martyrdom what the heck is the difference. For all that complain about this look at what’s there already that is exactly the same. oh and also Sticky grenade put them on someone running back to shelter or put them on your teammate and run them in to a crowd same thing! come on people there are so many things to complain about in the game that it’s just not worth for one a ban on a system you paid $300 bucks for that will get turned into a huge paper weight. Banning XBOX’s is stupid for the reasons listed ok modding it fine ban those idiots because they drive the game industry prices higher because of loss of revenue but a BAN for this that needs to just stop this really makes me want to go to PS3 where the net is free and they don’t ban anyone.

Food for thought basically if you complain and XBOX starts losing titles because of bans everyones xbox will be a paper wieght and we will all be back to PS3 the ban has to stop. I know infinity ward like when we find glitches it doesn’t kill game play it’s like wow how did we not think of that. where there is one there is always many other glitches right behind it. Stopping giving XBL that much power to ban and basically scan our data that’s supposed to be personal technically they violate privacy everytime. Stop complaining get good at the game and just be more observant that’s all it take to beat that glitch.

1) NOT everyone can do it, you have to be a level 50 or higher to get the javelin. So the rest of us that do not live in our parents basement and try to play for fun have to compete against jihads all the time with bullets. If you go in and legitimately kill someone they should not explode and kill you and your team. You and your teammates would have survived and possibly cleaned up using the weapons the way they were meant to be used. Picking them off with a sniper does not work half the time because if one of your teammates is within 100 yards of the person they die. Its kills for nothing, it is cheap. If you can not see that then you have no skill.

Ive run into a couple of these guys and its the cheapest thing I have ever seen. I mean really to sit there and say people have no skill because they DO NOT use a problem with the game to their advantage. I would think skill would show in not using that technique.

Should people be banned?
No, it is a tantalizing solution though. They just need to fix it.

You know, it is quite amazing just how far the illiteracy of the online community goes. How many of the posters on this forum would say that English is their first language? Why the hell can't you master the art of writing ONE language legibly? The response is invariably 'who cares?' – yet they bitch about gaming skill and how one should adapt to glitches. Grammar is not a difficult thing. Neither is resisting the urge to truncate every word, when you have all the time in the world to write it. Half the posts here read like stream-of-consciousness poetry, except without any thought behind it.

No doubt there will be plenty of pointing out tiny mistakes in this post. The difference is: I missed it. I'm not a lazy moron.
