
SDXC Card-readers: Coming to Future Laptops
By: Jamie Pert | December 2, 2009 | Leave a CommentEarlier this year at CES 2009 the SDXC standard was unveiled, however we have not yet seen this standard widely used, we are now hearing that some laptop manufacturers are planning to offer offer SDXC readers in future laptops.
According to a recent article posted on HotHardware Dell, HP and Lenovo are currently developing laptops with SDXC support, it is thought that some devices supporting this format will debut at the 2010 CES trade show in January.
SDXC cards are said to offer read speeds of 300MB/s along with a maximum card capacity of 2TB, although they offer these speeds they are also backwardly compatible to SDHC, SD and MMC standards.
