Motorola Droid: 1 million units nearly sold

Motorola Droid: 1 million units nearly sold

By: Alan Ng | December 1, 2009 | 2 Comments

It has been reported that Motorola could be hitting their initial sales prediction of their Droid handset on Verizon after it is thought that the handset is close to hitting 1 million units sold.

As reported from BGR, sales at the moment are said to be around the 700,000 / 800,000 mark for the fourth quarter, meaning that we could well see the Droid reach the 1 million mark before the end of the year.

BGR states that the huge $100 advertising campaign that Verizon and Motorola took part in is largely responsible for the great figures so far, so they are obviously hoping it continues for the rest of the holiday season.

Own a Droid and love it. Showed it off to my friends and they all bought one. It’s a man’s phone.

I’ve owned a Crackberry for years. It was okay as a phone and for sending email. I wasn’t impressed by the iPhone. But the Droid is impressive! It’s open, quick and well designed. Some people seem to have reservations with the physical keyboard but I prefer it over the touch.
