iPhone on Verizon Wireless: 2010 rumors, and recap of news
Filed under: Cell Phone Information, Cell Phones

One of the most rumored pieces of news towards the end of 2009 is the prospect of a Verizon iPhone. There is so much to talk on this subject that it is hard to know where to start. Let us start with the facts, the iPhone is currently exclusive to AT&T, but their exclusivity deal with Apple ends some time in 2010.
We know that Verizon have been desperate to get the iPhone as they wish to give their customers the best selling smartphone on the market. However, things have not been going their way so thought that they would launch an attack on AT&T with a series of TV ads, which aims to lets AT&T customers know that the 3G coverage they get is not as good as it is on Verizon.
In a recent post, we spoke about an interview with an Apple analyst, saying that Apple should secure a deal with Verizon. It is no secret how popular it was since Apple ended exclusivity with the iPhone in a number of European countries, so it is logical for Apple to do the same in the U.S.
There have been so many rumors that it is often hard to know what to believe, we had heard that Verizon had given up on the iPhone, but we then learned that the preferred cell phone carrier in the U.S. was still interested in the iPhone.
There are two things that we think are stopping a Verizon iPhone, the first is the fact that Verizon do not want to use the App Store and the second is Apple would only get $300 per handset with Verizon compared to $450 with AT&T.
We now know that a new iPhone has already been spotted in field testing, the question is, when will it be launched and which network carrier will be selling the rumored iPhone 4G to its customers?
