Earlier this morning we heard that Cyber Monday online deals today should help set a new shopping record, this was echoed in the UK with expectations of £300m being spent on Cyber sales.

The Amazon Kindle has also broken its sales record today, as reported here. Within the last hour, Reuters posted an interesting article about Cyber Monday online deals. They explain that Amazon and Walmart should be the “prime beneficiaries” of the new Cyber Monday record.

Amazon reported record sales in November, and this paired with good holiday performance helped their shares soar to an all-time high today.

Amazon and Walmart are certainly the main players during the Cyber Monday sales, with Walmart looking to be the winner from a growth perspective, and Amazon from a sales perspective.

This Wednesday will see the full results from Cyber Monday 2009, which is expected to see $900 million spent online. Until the full results are released, feel free to read the article on Reuters that takes a quick preview of today’s Cyber sales and some of the deals.
