Nokia N900: Another review of hardware and software

We have another review on the recently released Nokia N900 for you to check out now, this time from those guys at CNet UK. We say ‘recently released’, by that we mean the U.S, as UK customers are still waiting for the N900 to arrive.

Cnet has given the Nokia N900 an 8.4 out of 10, highlighting good areas such as the large internal memory capacity, large bright screen, good VoIP and IM features such as Google Chat, Facebook and Twitter.

They also talk about the internet browser in detail and how the full flash support is impressive, even though it was a bit slow when loading flash videos and games, according to Cnet.

As for the design of the phone, they comment how the build feels a bit ‘chubby’ and it would of been better equipped with a capacitive touchscreen rather than a resistive one.

However, if you are a gadget lover and are looking for more than just a phone, they say the Nokia N900 is great for you, as it has a lot of potential to offer.

Check out the full review in the link above and let us know your initial impressions of the phone.

Nokia may have shot themselves in the foot after fumbling their UK release!

I hear that you will be able to buy the Motorola Droid (Called Milestone here) from next Monday for GBP449 that’s 50 less than the N900 at present.

I’ve changed my mind on where my money’s going.

Like some of the smartphone at the market, Nokia N900 has a side slider form factor design. Now come to the interesting part of the device. Nokia N900 is running on the Linux platform Maemo 5 OS and it is handle by a ARM Cortex-A8 processor 600 MH that is same as in iPhone 3GS.The device was integrated with Maemo browser based on the same technology as Mozilla Firefox with complete HTML, Flash, Javascript and other Web standard support.
