iPhone Verizon: Will Recent Map Ads Hurt the Prospect?
By: Peter Chubb | November 30, 2009 | Leave a CommentSo much has been said in recent weeks about the series of map ads that Verizon released on TV, these were made to try and put people of heading over to AT&T. Verizon claimed that their 3G coverage was five times greater than AT&T in the U.S., we now wonder if this could hurt the prospect of a Verizon iPhone?
It is no secret that AT&T and Verizon have been locked in a constant battle; there are two reasons for this. The first is that Verizon are bitter that they still have not had the chance to offer the Apple iPhone to its customers, the second is that customers have been jumping ship and moving over to AT&T, even thought Verizon has the better network
Verizon have also has a huge advertising budget and the number of ads promoting some of its latest handsets proved just that, but we have to wonder if it was money well spent. The amount that Verizon spent on advertising its Motorola Droid did not produce expected sales.
The good thing about those Verizon ads is that they were very good, unlike the recent AT&T ad. We discussed how it looked rushed and the fact that Luke Wilson did not want to be there. If AT&T wanted to make a bigger impact they needed to do two things different, do not make it look like it was done in a classroom and get a better actor.
Do you think we will ever see a Verizon iPhone?
