HTC Hero: Android 2.1 update coming soon?

It has been reported that the HTC Hero has been spotted running the latest Android firmware update. We are not talking about the recently released 2.0 either, as an image leak has shown the HTC hero running Android 2.1.

As reported from BGR, we already knew that a upgrade to Android 2.0 was coming, once compatibility issues with the Sense UI had been sorted out.

This latest screenshot could mean though, that HTC are planning to bypass 2.0 altogether and just roll out 2.1 once it becomes available.

As you expect, no word from HTC yet, but we’re pretty sure they’ll have to clarify the situation sooner or later, we’ll let you know once they do. Check out the image over at BGR.
