2011 Ford Mustang V6 Preview at LA Auto Show
By: Peter Chubb | November 30, 2009 | 2 CommentsWe would have assumed that Ford would have left the Mustang alone since they revamped the 2010 model, but they still strive for more. Ford will preview its new 2011 Ford Mustang V6 at this weeks LA Auto Show, which stats on December 2, 2009.
The new 2011 Ford Mustang is special as it has the 3.7-liter V6 engine, the Blue Oval hopes that this new model of car compete with the six-cylinder Chevrolet Camaro. The new engine is made from aluminum and pushes out 305hp and 280 foot-pounds of torque.
Although this is smaller than the current 4.0-liter V6, its dual-overhead cam has helped to refine the engine to push out more power. The older larger engine only produced 205hp; this new 3.7-liter V6 engine now pushes out more power than the 4.6-liter V8 Mustang from a few years back.
This certainly shows that Ford is working hard in the engine department, and the fuel economy figures from such a large engine are outstanding, 30MPG on the highway.
